Hawaii Day Three: The Road to Hana

Day Three was just a drive to Hana, it took 11 hours of our day! We left at about 7 am and drove all the way to Hana, bypassing all the tourist stops where there were about a dozen cars parked every time. We did all the stops on the drive back while everyone was gone driving back to Lahaina! Perfect plan so there were barely any people at each stop! Pictures are from both my camera and dads! Enjoy!!

DSCF2576 DSCF2578  We stopped for gas on the way out and I saw a yoohoo in the fridge in the gas station… I absolutely HAD to try it after hearing it mentioned in TV and movies haha… nothing special, just chocolate milk lol

DSCF2580  There were also bugels, hellz yeah. They used to fit on my finger tips better when I was little!

DSCF2585  you can see the turn of the wheel, the road to hana is VERY curvy!

DSCF2603 DSCF2608  yeah that’s a car down there… taken over by nature

DSCF2611  waterfalls in the distanceDSCF2613  wild chickens… they were EVERYWHERE

DSCF2625 DSCF2627 DSCF2628  cool pattern in the rocks.. clearly that used to be liquid

DSCF2637  yet again, standing on the edge! there was a stranger up on the bridge above us yelling at us to be careful haha we had random bystanders concerned

DSCF2641 DSCF2647 DSCF2654 DSCF2658 DSCF2660 DSCF2664  clearest water I’ve ever seen in my life!! also.. VERY cold because it NEVER sees the sun ! In a cave about 30 feet underground

DSCF2665 DSCF2668  so we jumped in.. and then another 5 people jumped in too!

DSCF2676  took my camera deeper into the cave

DSCF2684  really awesome multicoloured rocks inside the save

DSCF2721 DSCF2726 DSCF2727  check off the bucket list… swim under a waterfall in paradise!!

DSCF2731  gives a bit of an idea of how HUGE the waterfall was

DSCF2735 DSCF2746  The GIGANTIC avocado we bought in Hana, grown in Hana! and it only cost $2.22… doesn’t that make your wallet hurt, Inuvik friends?

DSCF2750  found another waterfall to swim under!! Bucket list check, check!!

DSCF2751 DSCF2753 DSCF2787  climbed up to another waterfall but didn’t swim under it, it had a flash flood warning

DSCF2801  One of the things I had my eyes on for months before hawaii were the rainbow eucalyptus trees! The bark peels off in stages and the tree underneath changes colour with time, the bright green stuff just peeled and the red patches are much older! so pretty!!IMG_4077 Pictures from dad’s cameraIMG_4079 IMG_4082  about a 40 foot drop from thereIMG_4085 IMG_4086  water was about 4 feet deepIMG_4087 IMG_4094 IMG_4095 IMG_4097 IMG_4100  Daddy, Markie & I climbed up through that hole in the ceiling there
